Argentina prepares World Cup in Pretoria

Like many other nations, Argentina is preparing World Cup 2010 in a very short period. Whereas countries such as Mexico or Chili have been using the current 2 weeks to practice in several friendlies, Argentina has given a spectacular farewell to its fans against Canada before flying directly to the Pretoria Camp, in South Africa.

If I’m not wrong, the preparation has been organized in 2 steps. It is said that the first week was used to acclimatise and rest (after a very exhausting season), only. The second one, is currently used to prepare Argentina tactically. In my opinion, I don’t think a single second that the players didn’t practice their futbol during the first week because they aren’t in South Africa on vacation.

Against Nigeria, we all thought Maradona was going to start the same team that beated Germany last spring. And we forgot that Maradona contradicts himself all the time. It seems that Messi and the players have convinced Maradona to practice the following 4-3-3:

———————Romero——————–
Jonas——-DeMichelis——Samuel——-Heinze
——————Mascherano——————-
———–Veron—————Di Maria———-
Messi—————Higuain—————-Tevez

Don’t you think we should be practising our 4-4-2 only, including movements around Messi?
Or do you believe we manage that system well enough and that this week should be used to train 4-3-3, if needed?
Today, Maradona organized a game between a 4-4-2 VS a 4-3-3. Result: 3-3. Which system do you expect Maradona to choose against Nigeria?

This blog is yours and it’s objective this week is also to sum up the current status of our WC preparation. So feel free to post any important articles related to our beloved team.

VAMOS ARGENTINA!
